Baptisms
Baptism (christening) is the prescribed way of initiation into the Christian faith. Baptism was instituted by Christ who commanded his first disciples to 'go forth into all the nations, baptising in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.'
In baptism we are washed clean. The water is the outward sign of the invisible work that God is doing in the person being baptised. We are made members of the one universal Church of Jesus Christ.
